La Casita del Príncipe

La Casita del Príncipe is part of an old 1940s family home, now offering accommodation in the delightful setting of its own gardens, right next to a beach in the very heart of the Costa da Morte, in northwestern Spain. Welcome to Laxe, Galicia.

This is a great place for recreation, whether you are travelling alone, with your family, or with friends. Its lodgings can accommodate up to 8 people, and it enjoys a privileged location on Laxe’s sea promenade, with the beach a mere few yards away. Laxe, moreover, is a convenient 50-minute drive from Santiago de Compostela and La Coruña.

“And suddenly, the sea: the raging rebelliousness of the Atlantic filled her ears”

Clarice Lispector

Laxe Beach

At the foot of the adjoining houses, the beach of Laxe, sheltered within the estuary, is of a white, soft, and shiny sand originating from the mica particles of the old kaolin mines that were exploited for years, almost next to the sea.

It extends along almost 2 km, and enjoys all the facilities of an urban beach: parking for vehicles, several showers, lifeguards, walkways, access ramps for the disabled, a promenade, red cross, beach warning flags, and bars and restaurants in the close vicinity of the beach.

“Riding the waves, the expelled from the sea land, look both sides, and when no one is watching, they dance the dance of the forgotten and sign a contract with the artist that will bring them life.”

Javier de la Rosa, Laxe 2011
